The Doctor

Dr. Ettinger (right) receives congratulations from the President of the American Academy of Optometry The SUNY State College of Optometry appointed Dr. Henry Ettinger to its professional staff immediately after receiving his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1983. On faculty, he taught students ocular disease detection, refractive, and eye-muscle disorder evaluation procedures.

Dr. Ettinger gained extensive experience in Dr. Elliot Forrest's office for a year in 1985, where he conducted vision therapy evaluations and sessions. Dr. Forrest was one of the nation's leading authorities on vision therapy.

Dr. Ettinger established his Manhattan clinical practice in 1986 to serve the visual needs of children and adults. In January of 2007, he moved the practice to a beautiful facility located at 2 W. 47th Street in midtown Manhattan.

Board Certified in Vision Development and Therapy

The College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) certified Dr. Ettinger as a Fellow of the College. To become a Fellow of COVD, optometrists must attend 100 hours of post-graduate education, submit nine reports, and pass a written examination and an oral interview.
